Three militants killed in Jammu kashmir handwara terrorist attack.
Srinagar: The three slain “foreign” militants who were killed in an encounter at Kralgund area of Handwara have been buried at Bungus area of Kupwara district in northern part of Kashmir on Wednesday morning.
A government official quoted by a news gathering agency said that the bodies of the slain Lashkar-i-Toiba militants were handed over to local Auqaf Committee at Hoshar hamlet along Line of Control (LoC) in Naugam sector of Bungus Valley.
The bodies were taken to the frontier area for burial to maintain law and order in Kralgund and Langate localities, the official said.
Army spokeperson told that, “The injured soldier has been shifted to the hospital for special treatment. Three weapons were also recovered from the encounter site.”
Meanwhile, scores of people participated in the funeral prayers of the trio before being laid to rest near Hoshar Ground in Bungus.
Earlier, the local Auqaf committee had approached the police for the return of the bodies, but the authorities refused them to hand over the bodies.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown was observed in Karalgund and Langate areas of Tehsil Handwara against the killings of militants.
All shops were shut and no transport movement was seen on the roads. The business establishment, offices and Banks witnessed thin attendance.
It is important to note that three soldiers including “Major Satish Dahiya” Of Indian Army killed in encounters on Tuesday.
Among the dead was Major Satish Dahiya who succumbed to injuries in an encounter in which three militants were gunned down, in north Kashmir’s Handwara on Tuesday evening.
Rifleman Ravi Kumar, paratrooper Dharmender Kumar and gunner Astosh Kumar were killed on Tuesday morning in an encounter in which one militant was gunned down, in Bandipora district.
It is also important to note that just hours after three soldiers and one militant were killed in a fresh encounter in Bandipora of Kashmir, another encounter broke out between security forces and militants in the Handwara area of Kupwara district of the valley.
