40 Killed, More Than 100 Injured As Suicide Bomb Blasts A Sufi Shrine In Sindh

At least 40 people have been killed and more than 100 people have injured as a Suicide Bomb Blasts A Sufi Shrine In Sindh. The suicide bomber attacked the famous sufi shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Shewan area of Sindh.

The blast took place on Thursday evening when thousand of people had gathered to perform ‘Dhamal’ – a Sufi ritual and tradition.

It is important to note that these Sufi rituals and traditions have always been under constant threat by radical followers of Islam.

“The incident has taken place outside the mazar (shrine) where Golden Gate is located,” a senior spokesperson told Pakistani media.

It is important to note that the Sufi Muslim population is under constant threat through out the world as radical islam and Wahabism (Radical Sunni islam) is growing wings, which has put authorities under pressure and fear.

Immediate search and rescue operations were performed by authorities and the death toll is likely to go up as many more injured are being brought to hospitals for treatment.

No terrorist group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack. However Radical Sunni terrorist groups including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi have always targeted Sufi centers in past.

The Sufi muslim population of Pakistan has seen terrible decline in past years, as many people migrate to other lands for safety and security. India has always been one of the favorite land for the Sufi muslim community.

Scores of Sufi Muslims have been living in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and many other states.

Sufi Islam has always taught the world about love and never has any Sufi saint been blamed for Radicalism.

It is important to also note that the fate of such a beautiful community, is under constant threat now. It’s time, we all unite and stand against terrorism once again.
